Whether you live in Boise or just here for a visit, Idaho offers some of the BEST snow-covered trails in the country!
FIRST STOP: McU Sports, located at the corner of Harrison Blvd + Hill Road. No reservations needed; swing into 2314 Bogus Basin Road and rent your entire family a pair of snowshoes for just $12.
Here is a complete list of what bring:
- Snowshoes and poles
- Dress in layers of clothes including base layer, fleece and waterproof jacket and pants
- Waterproof snow boots
- Warm socks + extra socks
- Gloves + Hat
- Daypack: light snacks, lots of water (minimum 1 liter per person), first-aid kit, toilet paper, hand + toe warmers offer a nice touch too.
- Map of area + compass
- Sunscreen + sunglasses
- Headlamp just in case you end up on the trail at dark

Bogus Basin Mountain Nordic Center
Bogus Basin Mountain Nordic Center located just past the main lodge and parking area. Offering more than 20 miles of groomed trails, plus 4 miles of lit trails at night. Nordic skis and snowshoes are allowed and there are designated trails for both. TRY: Nordic Highway (easiest), Red-Tail and Sapper’s Return, which you can combine for a loop with the Nordic Highway. You can also rent equipment at the Nordic Center. Sorry, no dogs allowed here.
Nordic Day Pass Prices:
Adults and children (ages 13 and up): $18 full day/$12 half day/night
Children (ages 7-12): $9 full day/$5 half day

Idaho City Park N’ Ski Trails
Idaho City offers more than 50 miles of marked and maintained trails. These killer Idaho views that will have you coming back for more! Make a weekend out of it and reserve one of the backcountry yurts in the area, such as the Stargazer Yurt. This yurt is only 1.5 miles from the parking area up the Stargaze Trail at Beaver Creek Summit off Idaho Highway 21. The amazing 360-degree views are sure to WOW and help refuel your soul.
